Invite Matthew Estrade to your Parish, Diocese, or Conference

For every 100 older adults in your Parish (65 years +), 10 may have Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia (ADRD). Then, consider their family members who are taking care of them. There is solid education consistent with Holy Mother Church to transform families…and Parishes to care for elders -with or without ADRD- and caregivers.

The 3-minute video above is a “letter” to Priests (and their ministries). An actual 1-page letter can be viewed and printed by clicking HERE.

While our videos, audio podcasts, articles, and social media will always be FREE, we request modest fees for premium services in order to build and sustain Catholic Aging ministry.

Dioceses and Parishes may find that there are people excited to sponsor and be associated with a Parish mission, clergy or ministry workshop, or Catholic Aging family support group. Here are some ideas:   (along with a letter template that you can edit and send to a potential sponsor, HERE)

  • Local elder in-home care businesses or even national organizations that may have franchises in your area (E.g., Visiting Angels, Home Instead, Right at Home, and others)
  • Home health (medical), Physical therapy, Assisted living facilities, small ‘residential homes’ for seniors, and hospice companies
  • Parish ministries such as Knights of Columbus councils, Catholic Daughters of America, St. Vincent de Paul, and individual donors who understand the need for education and support.

Invite Matthew Estrade to speak at your Parish for 1 to 3 evenings on the many aspects of aging, dementia, and caregiving. We can customize the presentation to fit your needs.. All topics interweave caregiving tips and the Catholic Faith. Talks can include the basics of dementia, engaging those with dementia, Caregiver health and how to avoid burnout, family dynamics, creating a support team for your family and Parish, promoting brain health, using music with those with dementia, and recognizing & detering elder abuse. These can be delivered in person or via Zoom.

Do you need a speaker for your conference? Consider inviting Matthew Estrade to speak with your attendees. Remember, most of us will be caregivers at some point, and virtually all of us will need one.

We offer workshops for Priests, Deacons, and Religious on the basics of aging and dementia. We can also facilitate a discussion of the group’s experiences and learn from each other. These can be delivered in person or via Zoom.

We can assist in developing an overall strategy to be aging- and dementia-inclusive. There could be specific situations in your Parish when it helps to obtain good counsel, such as when aging or dementia may cause questions or conflict. These are usually delivered via Zoom or phone.

We would love to speak with your Diocese on how to minister to the aging and disabled. Invite us to spend some time with your caregiver, disability, respect life, and other offices. These can be delivered in person or via Zoom.

Let us offer a workshop for volunteers on the basics of aging and dementia. We will also facilitate a discussion of the group’s experiences and learn from each other. This is ideal for those who visit the elderly and sick in their homes or facilities. Learn the ‘Positive Approach to Care’ to create a joyful experience for visiting someone, no matter their ability. These can be delivered in person or via Zoom.

We are creating a network of Catholic Aging support groups, facilitated by your Parish volunteers – all with meeting agenda, scripts, training, and more from us!. Let Matthew Estrade guide you as you set up, promote, and run your Parish caregiver support group. This includes Zoom calls with Matthew and other volunteer facilitators around the country for advice and the latest information on aging and dementia.

Paperback copies of “The Peace with Dementia Rosary: Education, Intentions, Community” are available for purchase in quantities of 25 or more. We can ship it right to the rectory or Parish office! Local businesses or ministries may want to sponsor these books and place business labels inside them.
